Moon Iris | top
You awaken amidst the darkness with only a faint light to greet you. Your body is hemmed in by shards of crystals, gently sparkling and possibly pricking your skin. The surrounding landscape is dyed in the pinks and purples of the dusk filled with crystals protruding from the ground, some as large as a skyscraper. Even the few shy moon creatures you find in the wild have strange crystal growths on their hides. This is far from home— perhaps a dream? You pinch your skin and slap your cheeks, yet nothing seems to do the trick. Searching for answers yields nothing but an endless expanse of purple dust as far as the eye can see. You have four options: one, panic; two, soil yourself; three, admire it all then soil yourself; or four, go into survival mode. Eventually, you’ll realize that you’re not alone.
After a day or two of living off the crystal wilderness, a group of people find you worse for wear. They are the gallant Moon Knights from the planet of Prismatica. After the strange phenomenon during the past months when scientists observed the sudden appearance of rainbow crystals in the sky, the government has been feverishly combing through the moon for more Moonblessed to be rescued. You’ll eventually be brought into Iris’s moon government center.
You all may have your usual inquiries — Where are we? Who are you? What's going on? Why did I eat those fifty cent street truck tacos last night? — and the Prismals are almost too eager to answer. They tell you about their world and about the first appearance of the Moonblessed as the medical staff give you an examination to make sure you’re not carrying any viruses or biological hazards. If you react violently, you may be restrained and nerfed with a specialized neurotransmitting gun that releases a numbing agent through the top of your spine. Once the examinations are over, you’re informed that you will be provided accommodations on their planet during your stay.
While waiting for transport to be prepared, you may freely roam around the government center. Alternatively, you can ask the staff about the moon base. They suggest that you visit one of their excavation sites nearby: an enormous hole known as the Glory. The scientists have been excavating this site carefully for years, searching for a legendary ancient tomb sleeping within. They’re accepting volunteers if anyone is inclined to aid in their efforts. Perhaps the Moonblessed have the knowledge they need to make it a success!
This little adventure might leaving you wondering what or who exactly lies deeper inside, but the Prismals are just as clueless as you are. Cave-ins happen from time to time, but this might have been the strongest one recorded on this site.
Eventually you’re called to the docks and led onto a large transport vessel. Destination: Prismatica.

Welcome to Prismatica’s hub, Lunatia, the city of your dreams! A bustling metropolis lush with bright lights, vibrant colors, luxuriant plant life, and all the conveniences of technology absent from your own world… It seems like paradise to all the uninitiated.
With the end of Harvest Boon, the city is calm once more. The streets of Level 1 and 2 are now sparkling clean as always, but Level 3 is still in the process of cleaning up. There are confetti and deflated balloons strewn all over the streets, but Swiffy bots are on the scene, sweeping up whatever waste they can get their hands on. Sometimes, they might even play tug-of-war with you for it. At one of the train stations, a Prismal doomsayer screams about the apocalypse returning. Passersby shrug at the conspiracy theory and move on.

Middle Lunatia, Level 2 | top
The rows of Meas trees planted this Harvest Boon are blossoming beautifully into view, painting the fields in Level 2 with colors of spring. Meas tree saplings each have a small sign next to them, displaying their owners’ written wish if they chose to disclose it. Interestingly, the color and aroma of each flower depends on the owners; fiery personalities might have red or orange flowers, those born in a coastal town might have flowers that smell like the sea near their hometown, and so on. Maybe you’ll encounter a familiar aroma if you’re lucky enough.
The Moonblessed who were most active with moonlacing the past few weeks have the largest trees, nearly rivaling the oldest Meas trees around. The older trees planted by Prismals over time can be seen in the next field, standing majestically with their swaying branches and flying petals.

A ⬤ A chroma-powered lift made of magically fortified crystal is used to access the lower grounds. Be careful not to fall off! On the way down, some translucent caterpillars and crystals light your way. Be quiet and keep an eye out for Queen Bowie beetles: these glowing neon bugs are attracted to music, and a single note will send them flying into your clothes and hair. Putting the beetles under pressure is not advised, as they will explode and send their sticky insides flying throughout the airspace, potentially stinging your eyes. This will make moving around in dark, cramped spaces all the more difficult! Thankfully, they get bored if no one tries to sing for one whole minute.
B ⬤ Scientists, engineers, miners, and archeologists are at the unearthed antechambers, hard at work. They will assign you to different tasks: recording observations and taking down notes, digging with advanced excavation tools, or collecting fragile relics with metal and crystal detectors. The Moonblessed may also assist with solving riddles the ancients left in the tomb’s doors, chests and walls. Solving them may lead to either treasure rooms or trap walls that close in on unsuspecting grave robbers. Others, well...
Golden jellyfish statues line the walls, encrusted with glistening jewels all over, some worse for wear. Tall pillars have numerous ancient runes which the Prismals are struggling to decipher. Soon, an eerie whisper reaches your mind: “Wander no further. A curse awaits all who enter our kingdom. Disturb not those who slumber in the deep.” True enough, the floor from this point onward appears to be blue sand combed in the pattern of ocean waves... Are you brave enough to continue drilling through?
C ⬤ If that is not enough to send you scrambling out with moist underwear, perhaps the seismic jolt to the ground will. A slimy substance begins to ooze out the tomb’s cracks, glowing lilac like the Iris moon... The Prismals are quick to usher everyone out before the shaking gets worse. As the lift may be too dangerous, climbing equipment will be provided. Watch out for falling debris or collapsing rocks while assisting each other out of cramped passages and up the walls to safety. Try not to get stuck in the slime!
This little adventure might leaving you wondering what or who exactly lies deeper inside, but the Prismals are just as clueless as you are. Cave-ins happen from time to time, but this might have been the strongest one recorded on this site.

Passersby shrug at the conspiracy theory and move on.
A ⬤ In response to the unexpected rough events during Harvest Boon, the Moon Knights decided to hold free-for-all self-defense seminars at a large park near Lunatia Square. The live demonstrations include proper monster-wrangling procedures and how to efficiently keep a rogue moonheld (read: transformed under the moon) Prismal away. Participants are encouraged to learn and interact with each other to learn various safety practices and techniques. The training visors provided enhance the seminar experience, changing whoever your eyes focus on into a cerberus or other rogue moonheld Prismal on the visor’s display. Don’t use the visors for too long, or you’ll be seeing everyone as a cerberus well after you take the visors off! Fortunately, the effects only last for an hour. Energy drinks and free snacks are available to any worn-out Prismal or Moonblessed.
B ⬤ Virtual lunar conditions are also available via multiplayer VR pods in Lunar Scientia headquarters, simulating the Moonblessed/moonheld experience under full moons. Mental exercises and magic practice sessions are accessible in the virtual spaces, allowing people to test out their magical abilities and transformations. Simulation participants can either train by themselves, with a partner, or through a tutorial of instruction-based movements. However, the program is still in beta. You may experience errors or bugs like lagging, NPCs phasing into things they shouldn’t, weird physics, or body glitches.

A ⬤ Picnic grounds for flower viewings can be found near the fields. There are plenty of stalls selling homemade bruschettas, crostinis, sandwiches, wines, cheeses, and other enjoyable finger food. Notably, some wines may give you an insatiable desire to whisper things in someone’s ear. Sweet nothings, death threats, your secret kinks—no matter the words, you’ll want to kill someone softly with them.
B ⬤ The Swiffy bots that are assigned to the parks and gardens in Level 2 help keep things spick and span, but they’re due for maintenance and may attempt to sweep off any unfortunate picnics with their high-powered vacuums or leaf blowers. As they zoom across the paths, they chirrup about not treading on the grass and take off with picnic blankets, table cloths, and people’s clothes. Any nearby maintenance staff (who are all desperately trying to chase the bots) yell that a conk on the head will immobilize them. Once the malfunctioning bots are stopped, the staff approach to wheel them away while apologising profusely for the mayhem.

Loki | marvel cinematic universe
[TW: Character remembers dying before he arrives on Prisma, with some unsettling details.]
Loki jerks to consciousness with a silent scream, his hands immediately coming up to his throat. He blinks in the near darkness, keeping very still, his breathing slow and measured. There is pressure inside his skull and his whole body aches, but he is not dead anymore.
He remembers dying. The pain and then the numbness. The pressure and release of it, the sheer, primal fear as his vision had gone to black, first around the edges and then all the way to the centre. The sickening crunch of his spine as it have given way and splintered.
And now, this. This, whatever this is, had not been the plan. For there had been a plan, he's fairly sure. Only a mad fool would go against Thanos with only a dagger, and while Loki's sanity is at time questionable, he is no idiot. Attacking Thanos so frontally and with so little power meant certain death. Real death, this time.
And yet.
Loki shudders and shoulders his way free with some effort, the crystals scraping against his ruined battle armour. A quick survey of the landscape around him reveals more of the same. Rocky formations, scuttling creatures with strange protrusions, purple light. A foreign moon hangs over him, oddly ominous against the backdrop of void and stars.
Panicking would do little good, Loki knows, and though the situation is not ideal, so far it beats being dead. Without the Tesseract he cannot teleport and his magic is useless at the moment so there is no other choice than to pick a direction and walk that way, keeping a sharp eye on his surroundings. He starts walking.
Should Loki see anyone he will approach cautiously, trying to ascertain whether you are friend or foe, looking for details about you that might give him a clue about which part of the galaxy he ended up in.
TALES FROM THE CRYPT#2: b)
Looking down from the thin platform of the elevator into the abysmal hole beneath him, Loki realizes that is is probably not the safest thing to be doing after a recent near-death experience. But the lack of knowledge about how and why he got here grates on him, and there is nothing to do while he waits for the transport to take him to the main planet. Inaction is inadvisable at the moment, he knows, so this at least will be something to busy his mind and keep him from wondering whether everyone he has ever loved is dead.
The locals have told him they are excavating an ancient tomb inside the rock, and Loki thinks that maybe, just maybe, there will be something recognizable to him in the relics of an ancient civilization, something that will give him a clue regarding where he might be.
The lift hits the bottom of the excavation site with a rattle and Loki steps off, getting closer to the crumbling statues and the tall pillars, examining the relics as they are carried away carefully. He won't offer his help but he will examine it all carefully, and will ask questions about the excavation to people who seem to be supervising it.
Once he has gleaned all the available information from outside the tomb he will wander inside, watching the people hovering near the entrance.
“Have you stepped into the tomb before?” He asks the nearest person, quietly.
THOSE KICKS WERE FAST AS LIGHTNING b)
You have been blessed by the Sanguis Moon. How very lucky, to be chosen and moonblessed! the Prismals enthuse, unheeding of the way Loki's eyes narrow distrustfully.
Unasked for, unearned blessing from unfathomable powers were never good news, in Loki's experience, as the difference between a blessing and a curse could be very thin indeed.
Still, as he inquires about this blessing, what is revealed does not seem too drastic. So he might become angrier for a period of time, his nose will be sharper, his fire magic easier to access, and he might more or less completely turn into a snake. All in all, things Loki has some level of experience with.
Learning that there is a virtual reality program designed to help you cope with this blessing, Loki goes to the Scientia headquarters, plugging in with some trepidation and going through the various mental and magic exercises. The blessings are what he expected, mostly, but the influence of the moon on him is more difficult to resist and control than he hoped it would be, and he strives not to give in to the call.
While he practises, his real magic is also reacting to the virtual exercise, so there is rather a lot of greenish-gold light coming from the small chamber, the walls shimmering with unspent energy.

Luckily, Thor doesn't need to go particularly long or far to find his quarry. Loki is in the midst of interrogating the excavation team at the entrance when Thor finally makes his way there from the depths of the cave. He thinks that Loki must have come to the same conclusion as he did - that this is the best bet for finding answers.
All things considered, Thor is relieved to see him.
"Have you come to rescue me for a change, brother?" There's a wry twist to the words. Thor holds no real hope for that, but he looks Loki over as he steps closer. Even for gods, the journey into the city isn't a particularly pleasant one.
let the minsunderstandings begin wooo
His brother is like Loki recalls last seeing him -short hair, mismatched eyes, confident bluster. There is none of the pain he remembers seeing on Thor's face at the very end, with Thanos' gauntlet pressed to his temple, none of the betrayal shining in his eyes until Loki had caved in and marched to certain death to save him. His brother is as he always is with Loki now, a little careful, a little weary, but willing enough to be friendly, to be warm, to say his name with exasperated fondness.
Loki can't quite cope with the deep onslaught on emotion and he doesn't want to show Thor just how much he cares so he goes to anger instead, deflecting his own feelings.]
Save you, Thor? [Loki's tone quickly grows from incredulous to venomous as he realizes Thor might look glad to see him but he doesn't look relieved, or even grateful.] Have I not saved you enough? Have I not given up enough, for your head?
odinson family reunions are really kind of the worst
He takes a breath, quick but measured, and raises his hands palm-out. ]
Loki, if I've wronged you, I know not how. When last I saw you we were traveling to Earth, then somehow I came to be here instead. It was not my intention to leave if that's what this is about--
if by worst you mean best then yes
Is that the last thing you remember, travelling to Earth? [Loki prompts, disbelievingly. He searches Thor's face for signs of deceit, and finds none. Thor has gotten better at lying (he even managed to trick Loki a few times as of late, much to his dismay) but he hasn't gotten that good. And Thor would not lie about something like this, Loki thinks.]
Then how come I remember more? I remember what came next, with you there. [His eyes narrow at the memory.] Thanos attacking our ship. You fought him. Do you recall none of it?
they're that too
That he might be missing time is something Thor hasn't considered at all, and now dread twists in the pit of his stomach. ]
You're certain of all of this. [ It's not a question. He knows his brother. ]
Tell me everything. From the beginning.
this is actually semi-cordial, I'm impressed
Loki considers for a few long seconds, watching Thor carefully. Would it be a kindness, he wonders, or a cruelty, to tell Thor the truth? Should he lie and spin a tale of heroism? He looks down, takes a slow breath, and meets Thor's eyes again.]
Perhaps it is better you don't know. [He presses his lips together and then uncharacteristically reaches out, giving Thor's shoulder a quick squeeze. It's a diversion, but his words are honest.] I never thought I would say this but I am glad to see you, even in this wretched place.
how long do you think that will last
[ It's one thing for Loki to lie to him outright, but another for him to talk around the truth. He'd been so agitated only moments before, and suddenly he was reticent? The ruse might have worked years ago, but Thor is less careless these days. Even here, his thoughts rarely stray far from those he's unwillingly left behind. ]
I need to know what happened, Loki. Our people are on that ship. [ He puts his hands on both of Loki's shoulders and meets his eyes - imploring where it's so often been a threat. ] What has Thanos done? Where is he now? Surely we can return and stop him.
[ Together is the unspoken implication, but Thor can't bring himself to give it voice. It's been too long since their alliances were anything but necessity or preservation, and he should know better than to hope sentiment holds much in the way of meaning. ]
I guess we'll have to see...
He hasn't had any time to think about this, about how he would spin the tale if he was asked to tell it. He never imagined having to tell it to Thor, who was there and saw it all, and he's not sure whether he wants to preserve this truce between them or jeopardize it. Antagonizing his brother has always been easy and it is a familiar path to tread, almost comfortable. Loki wants to lie, and he wants to tell the truth. He wants Thor's anger, Thor's disbelief, Thor's gratefulness, all at once.
He snaps back to attention when Thor mentions returning and stopping Thanos.]
There is no stopping him. [He moves, stepping away from Thor's grasp.] You tried. Banner tried. [His lips flatten into an unhappy line at the memory.] Even I, tried.
resets the counter to '0 minutes' as I post this tag
No... [ Thor shakes his head, not disbelief but stubborn refusal instead. ] No. It doesn't matter. We'll try harder, and we'll be better prepared this time. As long as we yet live, Thanos will fall.
[ Thor takes a step forward. ] Loki please, you can't just run away every time you lose a fight.
they need a 'it's been xx days since Thor and Loki argued' sign
Then you'll die. [There is no mercy in Loki's tone, and he sounds definitive about it. He knows Thanos better than Thor, and he's well-aware even his brother could not take him down. Thor's next words bring him up short and he straightens, tipping his chin up and blinking slowly as the pain of the comment registers.]
Is that what you think I did, brother? Ran away like a coward when Thanos won? When he tore through our ship and slaughtered our people?
[Loki's jaw works, his whole frame filling with tension. There is a faint crackle in the air, his magic shuddering to life.]
When he put an infinity stone to your head until you screamed?
they do. it would be really economical because they'd only need to get the 0.
It's the next words that cut through him as surely as a knife. Thor feels each one. A part of him had known from the moment Loki spoke of Thanos that there would be further casualties, that what loss he had suffered before could always be compounded. He sees it vividly, like so many of the nightmares that now follow him into the waking world. And yet, even despite the horror, something else clicks slowly into place. Loki's reaction to him, the way he says our people, and now the way he paints the scene with Thor at Thanos' mercy.
Thor's magic doesn't surge to meet his brother's this time, nor does he try to placate Loki's temper. Instead, Thor looks at him, not wanting to believe the conclusion that he's already come to. He wills it to be a lie, just one of the many that have come between them for so long. ]
Brother, what have you done?
:')
Loki meets Thor's eyes again and he knows, from the stricken look on his face, that Thor has already come to the only possible conclusion his story could have. It is touching, in a way, that Thor still believes enough in Loki's character not to think his brother betrayed him when he most needed him. It is also infuriating, as it had been a very close call indeed, Loki hesitating until the last possible moment before he took the plunge.
He squares his shoulders and keeps his voice flat, his demeanour too calm not to be foreboding.]
I gave my head to save yours, Thor. Don't be so eager to put it back on the chopping block.
:')
Even now, he doesn't think he was mistaken. Loki is a skilled liar, but his anger and vanity have always betrayed the truth. There is a lie or omission somewhere, perhaps, but this isn't it.
Thor shakes his head slowly. That Loki would die just as he was beginning to change - he can't accept this. He won't.
It's a long moment before he feels that he can speak again. Thor steps forward again and tries to put his hands on either side of Loki's neck, meeting his eyes. ]
I am grateful that somehow you yet live. [ He takes a slow breath. ] If you think that I am eager to lose what remains of my family, you're mistaken. I must fight to hold on to it.
no subject
As it is, Loki watches the slew of emotions slowly rolling over Thor's face with some amount of satisfaction, noting that there is sadness there, but also pride. And, as he suspected from the start, it all slowly grows into even more determination.
He stays still as Thor steps forward and prepares to speak, knowing fully well what his brother is about to say. He doesn't expect Thor to reach for his neck however, and can't help but flinch away at the contact, not in anger or in disgust but in fear, a knee-jerk reaction he cannot quite conceal. He sighs instead, his jaw working as Thor confirms his suspicions. He still seems angry but resignedly so, now. He was never truly able to change Thor's mind, after all, not on such matters.
He meets Thor's eyes, tilting his head in partial agreement.]
Neither am I. [It's a generous statement coming from Loki, and yet he says nothing about actually helping Thor against Thanos. Thor is all he has left of Asgard still, and Loki is willing to work to preserve that.]

Kicks were fast as lightning
He sets aside his own studies and heads over towards the booth with the light and peers inside. There's a person in there, but it's the light he's more curious about. It feels like... something. He takes a step inside, and hears the click of a tape recorder, the tape recorder that has appeared near the man, despite Jon having left it at home. There's a staticky feeling in the air.]
Ah, excuse me? Sorry, I think I left something here.
[At least it gives him an excuse to be there.]
no subject
He pushes the headset back just in time for the man who has stepped in to speak up, his eyes narrowing in suspicion. The man looks harmless enough but there is something... odd about him, something Loki can't quite pinpoint yet. His magic abates around the room, gathering inside Loki instead. He follows the man's gaze to the machine nearby, his eyebrows arching.]
This was not here before. [Loki says, slowly. He's quite sure the room was empty when he first came in. He steps down from the VR platform, hands in his back and shoulders squared.] Is it yours?
no subject
He watches the man as he steps down off the platform, gaze darting to the tape recorder and then back to him.]
Yes. It must have gone astray.
no subject
'Gone astray' is an unusual expression to talk about an inanimate object, Loki thinks. Unless it has its own mind, which immediately makes it a lot more interesting. He steps closer carefully, considering the tape recorder. He's never seen something like this (Asgard's recording technology is much more advanced) but he can see that it is on, a faint whir coming from it.]]
What is it doing? [He inquires carefully, glancing back towards Jon.]
no subject
His attention is pulled back to the tape recorder. He's not worried about it. He's sort of accepted that they will just come back to him. He hasn't ever run out of tape, which is lucky because cassettes are hard to procure. In the scale of weird things, this one doesn't much register anymore.]
Recording, it looks like.
no subject
[Loki frowns, and reaches out for the small machine. His magic hums a little as he touches it, making a noise not unlike static. If nothing else happens he will lift it and bring it closer to examine it. There is what he assumes to be magnetic tape inside, slowly unrolling in an attempt to capture sound. How quaint.
He hands it back to Jon, looking curious.]
Why? [He inquires, arching his eyebrows. If he's being spied on by an unknown power, he would very much like to know.]
no subject
That's just what it does. Records.
no subject
You have no idea how it works, do you?
no subject
I suspect. But I don't think it's possible to actually know how it works.
[He is sure that if he took it apart it would be nothing but mundane circuits and batteries. The same way that the Leitners, those books that have caused so much misery, are simply paper and text.]
TALES FROM THE CRYPT#1
All things considered, the only thing the Sorcerer Supreme is worried about upon finding himself in a clearly alien environment is the fact that he performs a very important function to his home dimension and is currently not physically in the proper location to protect its reality properly. He has to find answers, but there is nothing he can do on his own. Unable to find his bearings with no clear point of reference, he begins walking with no aim other than hoping blind luck will lead him to someone who knows where he is and why he's here. The Cloak of Levitation hangs from his shoulders silently, passively avoiding getting snagged on the crystals the sorcerer passes.
After walking for what feels like hours, Strange is less alarmed by the fact that he's mysteriously no longer on Earth than he is by the silhouette he sees approaching. The last time he had seen this particular Asgardian, they had not parted on friendly terms. Strange assumes it's too much to hope that Loki doesn't hold a grudge, but if there's the slightest chance that they're both likewise stranded, perhaps a temporary truce could be negotiated.
Strange doesn't call out. If he can see Loki, it's extremely likely that Loki's far sharper eyes have already spotted him.
